The Poets Den is a community centered on creative expression and connection, most often through the lens of poetry. We gather to read and discuss inspiring works. We write beside one another with the opportunity to share. We support each other as we explore the freedom and vulnerability of creative impulse.

We welcome everyone.
You do not have to be a professional writer, avid reader, or English major to join The Poets Den. Whether you call yourself a writer or have only ever known a blank page, you are welcome and encouraged.
The purpose of this group is to spark inspiration, steep in creative energy, and connect over the nuanced tenderness that poetry brings to life. If you happen to get some writing out of it, phenomenal.

Kindness
We come together to enjoy conscious connection. It is our intention to welcome everyone into the group with warmth and kindness.
Non-judgement
Creativity is boundless. In this group, we don’t care about skill level, though we certainly admire craft. We aren’t pretentious.
Inclusivity
We all come from different experiences. So long as no harm is being done, every experience is valid.
Listening
We practice listening just as much as we share and contribute. This group doesn’t work if one person dominates the conversation, end of story. We keep ourselves in check.
Communication
If we’ve been offended, we communicate from a space of empowerment. Friction is a healthy part of relationship, and we navigate it with resolution in our hearts.
Authenticity
We come to group as we are. There’s no need to make a mood or wear a mask. We welcome others as they are.
